Temple of the Sun is seeking a Distribution & Logistics Manager to own the end-to-end performance of our Byron Bay distribution centre. You will lead a small but critical team, drive stock accuracy, and coordinate inbound from manufacturing to outbound distribution for retail, ecommerce and wholesale channels.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on leadership, strong logistics expertise and a track record of setting strategy while on the floor.

About the Role

The Distribution & Logistics Manager owns the end‑to‑end performance of the Distribution Centre, leading the team responsible for all stock movement within the business - from receiving finished goods from manufacturing suppliers through to coordinating outbound distribution to our own retail stores, our eCommerce customers, and domestic and international wholesale partners.

This role is accountable for the accuracy, speed and cost‑efficiency of every inbound and outbound channel, for the integrity of our inventory systems, and for building a high‑performing, well‑run distribution team.

The Distribution & Logistics Manager sets the operational standards, processes and reporting cadence that the Distribution Coordinator and wider team work within, and acts as the key link between distribution, retail, wholesale, eCommerce and customer service.

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on leader who combines strong logistics and inventory expertise with the people skills to build, coach and manage a small but critical team. The ideal candidate has led a warehouse, distribution or logistics function before and is comfortable both setting strategy and stepping in on the floor when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and manage the Distribution Coordinator and broader distribution/warehouse team
• Set clear priorities, KPIs and performance standards for the team
• Own rostering, workload planning and capacity across peak and non‑peak periods
• Onboard and develop distribution team members as the function grows
• Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement

Distribution Strategy & Operations

• Own the smooth, accurate and timely flow of stock across all inbound and outbound channels
• Oversee order fulfilment, dispatch and returns for online customers, retail stores and wholesale partners
• Design and continuously improve distribution processes, workflows and SLAs
• Oversee stock transfers between retail store locations and manage open sales orders and allocations
• Set service‑level expectations with Customer Service for stock‑related issues and escalations
• Plan and manage distribution capacity and resourcing around peak trading periods and promotions

Inventory & Stock Management

• Own the accuracy and integrity of inventory records in Cin7 (inventory software)
• Lead cycle counts, stocktakes and reconciliation, and drive resolution of discrepancies
• Set and manage replenishment strategy across retail, wholesale and online channels
• Oversee packaging stock levels, reordering and supplier lead times
• Establish and enforce QC standards for stock arrivals
• Oversee supplier returns, branch transfers and stock write‑offs
• Manage relationships with freight and courier partners (e.g. DHL) to optimise cost and service levels
• Oversee stock intake and receiving processes for incoming shipments
• Review and approve freight invoices, and identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Manage supplier categorisation (expense, warranty and return) and resolution processes
• Oversee sea freight scheduling, customs coordination and packaging logistics
• Negotiate rates and terms with freight and logistics vendors
• Act as the escalation point for stock availability, dispatch timing and delivery issues
• Partner with retail, wholesale and digital teams to resolve fulfilment issues quickly
• Identify recurring fulfilment or stock issues and lead root‑cause resolution
• Provide regular stock and distribution updates to leadership, retail teams and wholesale partners
• Represent distribution in cross‑functional planning (product launches, promotions, new store openings)
• Own reporting on distribution KPIs — fulfilment times, accuracy, freight cost and stock discrepancies
• Document and continuously improve operational processes and SOPs
• Manage distribution budget, including freight, packaging and consumables spend
• Prepare reporting and recommendations for leadership meetings
• Support shoot sample loans, promotional gifting, uniform loans and related operational programs

Please note this is a Maternity cover contract role until January 2028

• Is comfortable working hands‑on in a fast‑paced environment while also thinking strategically
