Job summary

Viatris in Bundamba, Australia, is seeking a Distribution Assistant to support our Commercial Supply Chain, ensuring accurate picking, packing, labeling, and shipping of orders from our Bundamba warehouse.

You will work under the Distribution Team Leader on a 12-month fixed-term or permanent basis, bring a current forklift license, and have a basic high school certificate or warehouse experience; familiarity with Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current forklift licence is mandatory.
• Experience in warehouse or distribution is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and overall IT aptitude.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and lift moderate weights.

Responsibilities

Our Commercial Supply Chain department is seeking two detail oriented and proactive Distribution Assistants to join our distribution team, based at our Bundamba Warehouse, one on a 12 month fixed-term appointment, and the second a permanent opportunity. Our warehouse is newly built, air-conditioned premises equipped with onsite parking and conveniently located to public transportation.

Reporting to the Distribution Team Leader, the Distribution Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of products from our warehouse to customers. This role plays a crucial role in organizing, packing and shipping orders accurately and timely.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Assist in the picking, packing, and labelling of products for shipment.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all orders before they are dispatched.
• Material handling activities including unloading of trucks and containers.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
• Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment activities.
• Collaborate with other team members to streamline distribution processes and improve efficiency.
• Always adhere to GMP and safety procedures and guidelines.

The ideal candidates considered for this role are:

• Current forklift ticket is desirable.
• Recently completed high school certification; or
• A seasoned Warehouse worker; or
• Individuals keen to learn more about; Warehousing, Manufacturing & Distribution within the Pharmaceutical sector; or
• An individual with strong administrative background proficient in using different technology and software.
  

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

• It is a necessity that the candidate has a current forklift license.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience working with Microsoft suite – particularly excel is highly desirable.
• Current Forklift Ticket is preferred but not required – Viatris will cover the affiliate cost of this if not currently in possession following completion of your probationary period.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia (Australian Citizen or appropriate Visa holder)
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
