Job summary

Mile End Bagels in Melbourne is seeking a Dispatch Team Member to manage daily orders from our Fitzroy bakery to four cafe stores. You will pack, load, and deliver in our company van, keeping stock moving and stores stocked.

You will be reliable, physically capable, hold a valid driver’s licence and communicate clearly with cafe, bakery and kitchen teams to keep operations running smoothly. Weekend shifts may be required. Morning and afternoon/evening shifts available, with weekend priority.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality essential due to logistics timing.
• Ability to lift, move and load stock safely.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to coordinate with cafe, bakery and kitchen teams.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch: packing, loading and delivering daily orders from the central bakery to four store locations in a company van.
• Stock: manage FIFO, conduct regular stocktakes and monitor inventory levels.
• Maintenance: organize storage, keep stock areas tidy and perform daily cleaning/maintenance tasks.
• Communication: coordinate with cafe, bakery and kitchen managers to ensure smooth flow of operations.

Mile End Bagels is on the hunt for a Dispatch Team Member (our behind-the-scenes legend) to join our team.

Our dispatch role keeps our business running smoothly every single day. Your work ensures our freshly baked bagels reach our four cafes safely + on time, and that our cafes are fully stocked and ready to have a great day!

We are offering a casual position, with potential to grow into a permanent one for the right candidate

About the role;

• Dispatch – Packing, loading, and delivering daily orders from our central bakery+kitchen (Fitzroy) to our four store locations in our company van.
• Stock – Understanding FIFO (first in first out), conducting regular stocktakes, and monitoring inventory levels.
• Maintenance – Organising our storage facility, keeping stock areas tidy and efficient, and performing daily cleaning + maintenance tasks.
• Communication – Coordinating with cafe, bakery + kitchen managers to ensure everything flows seamlessly.

About You;

You’ll be a great fit if you are:

• Reliable and punctual – you understand that logistics is about timing.
• Physically capable – confident lifting, loading, and moving stock.
• Licensed to drive – a valid driver’s licence is a must.
• Clear communicator – able to coordinate with multiple people and teams.

Availability;

• Morning shifts: Mon-Thurs 5:30am: 12:30pm / Fri-Sun: 6:30am-1:00pm
• Afternoon/evening shifts: Fri-Sat: 3:30pm-8:00pm.

Weekend availability will be prioritised!
