Job summary

Minter Ellison is recruiting a Discovery and Data Intelligence Consultant to join our Consulting practice. You will handle discovery workflows, manage review databases, and provide technology-enabled support to legal teams across high-profile matters.

You will work with cutting-edge eDiscovery platforms and emerging tech, collaborating with senior consultants and managers in a hybrid setup across Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane offices.

Qualifications

• Strong academic qualifications in IT, computer science, data science, law or a related field.
• 1–2 years demonstrated experience in litigation, legal adjacent services, legal technology, eDiscovery, or technology consulting.
• Proficient technical skills in document and database management, including experience with eDiscovery platforms.
• Strong IT literacy with aptitude for learning new software and applications.
• Competence in data manipulation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Attend matter kick-off meetings and document technical requirements and workflows.
• Quality assure vendor-processed data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Process documents and data using eDiscovery platforms.
• Perform advanced searches, filtering and culling to identify relevant documents.
• Set up review databases from established templates and workflows.
• Provide introductory database training to legal teams and clients.
• Support the production of documents in required formats and specifications.
• Follow established protocols to ensure compliance with professional standards and court requirements.
• Liaise with legal teams to understand matter requirements and provide technical guidance.
• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Support senior team members in client meetings and presentations.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables.
• Document workflows and processes to support knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to team discussions on process improvements and emerging technologies.
• Understand the fundamentals of when matters may require digital forensic expertise and support senior team members in coordinating with forensic partners.
