Job summary

Melba Support Services in Victoria is seeking a part-time Disability Support Worker to assist people with disability to live meaningful, self-directed lives across SIL, ISA, and other supports. You’ll deliver personalised care, promote independence, and work within a values-driven team under The Melba Way.

You don’t need prior disability experience; the role emphasizes dignity, respect, and person-led practice.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma in Community Services is preferred.
• Previous disability or aged care experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Commitment to human rights, inclusion and person-led practice.

Responsibilities

• Support people to build independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist people to participate in community, recreational, educational and employment-related activities.
• Provide personal care and daily living assistance where required.
• Support health and wellbeing including medication assistance where required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver safe, high-quality, person-led support.
