Job summary

Support Your Way Disability Services is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker for the Melbourne Metro - North-East region. The role involves in-home personal care, mobility assistance, medication administration, meal prep and transport, with shifts at clients' homes and in the community.

Applicants should have strong English, 3+ years in transferring/positioning, experience with cerebral palsy, ASD, and a willingness to travel beyond 30 minutes.

Qualifications

• National Police Check required.
• Full Australian Driver’s License.
• First Aid and CPR certificate.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
• NDIS Worker Screening Certificate
• Certificate of Medical Administration
• Infection Control Training
• Vaccinated against COVID-19 (third booster required)
• Commitment to in-house training and professional development
• Reliability and flexibility to work varied shifts and travel long distances
• Prior experience in support worker roles preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with daily living tasks including transfers and positioning, personal care, meal preparation, and transport.
• Support independence and community participation.
• Provide in-home and community-based care in alignment with participant plans.
• Administer medications as credentialed and monitor health indicators as required.
• Be reliable, patient, and responsive to participant needs and preferences.
