Job summary

Support Worker Co. is a leading agency providing Disability Support Workers to service providers across Australia. We are currently seeking Casual Support Workers to support adult NDIS participants in SILs and respite services in Gladstone and surrounding suburbs.

Role includes morning, afternoon, and sleep-over shifts with a focus on personal care, medication support, and community engagement. Applicants must have SIL experience, a valid driver’s license, and background checks.

Qualifications

• 12 months paid experience supporting people in SILs with physical & intellectual disabilities.
• First Aid and CPR certifications.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for paid employment.
• National Police Check within last 6 months or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with personal activities including hygiene support, medication assistance, and meals.
• Support engagement in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Work in 1-on-1 and group settings and transport participants using company or personal vehicle.

Support Worker Co is a leading Support Worker Agency that provides best-fit Disability Support Workers to Disability Service providers across Australia.

We are currently seeking Casual Support Workers to support adult NDIS participants in SILs, & respite services in Gladstone and surrounding suburbs

Female Support Workers are preferred for this role due to female clients' requests with personal hygiene needs.

Overview Of The Role

• We have opportunities to support people in SIL arrangements & respite services.
• 24-hour care model, meaning staff are required to work a combination of shifts – morning (from 6am), afternoon (from 2pm) and sleep over shifts.
• Assist participants with the range of personal activities including hygiene support, medication assistance, manual handling, domestic assistance & meals.
• Following specific positive behaviour support plans (PBSP) Assist participants with engaging in community, social and recreational activities.
• Support people within both group settings and 1-on-1 arrangements.
• Use a company vehicle and/or your own vehicle to transport participants to community-based outings.

What you need:

• 12 months paid experience supporting people in SILs with physical & intellectual disabilities.
• Australian Driver's License
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for paid employment
• National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months or willing to apply)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Reliable smart phone with data
