Job summary

Samaritans is seeking a part-time Disability Support worker to assist individuals with daily living skills in a 24/7 roster that includes active shifts and sleepover hours. The role is located in Singleton, NSW, Australia.

You will support clients with tasks from personal care to community engagement, while maintaining a strengths-based, person-centred approach. Applicants must be open to conversations and hold a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support is desirable.
• Be open to conversations and be a good listener, without judgement.
• Show initiative and think outside the box.
• Empower participants you support – 'Do With' not 'Do For'.
• Complete pre-employment medical, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and have a valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Support household activities, medical and health needs, attending community events/activities, personal care, meal management, transport, communication, and managing emotions and behaviours.
• Flexible availability across 7 days.
