Job summary

NDIS Discover Nursing Australia is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide 1:1 community access support for a young gentleman in a relaxed, rewarding role.

You will accompany him to appointments, cafés, shopping trips, parks and local activities, helping him participate and develop independence. A nurse-led organisation provides ongoing support, with flexible hours and contractor ABN arrangements.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) required.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You required.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check required.
• National Police Check required.
• First Aid and CPR required.
• Current driver’s licence required.

Responsibilities

• Attend appointments with the participant.
• Visit cafés and share meals together.
• Go shopping or run errands.
• Visit parks and local attractions.
• Support recreational and leisure activities.
• Encourage independence and confidence.
• Provide friendly companionship and conversation.
• Assist the participant to achieve NDIs goals.

We are currently seeking a friendly and reliable Disability Support Worker to provide 1:1 community access support for a young gentleman.

This is a straightforward, enjoyable role where you'll spend time together in the community, assisting him to attend appointments, visit cafés, go shopping, enjoy local outings, and participate in activities that interest him.

About The Role

This role involves supporting one young gentleman to access the community and enjoy meaningful activities while encouraging independence and social participation.

Your Responsibilities May Include

• Attending appointments.

• Supporting recreational and leisure activities.

• Supporting the participant to achieve their NDIS goals.

This is a low-intensity, community-based support role where building rapport and providing reliable support are the key priorities.

Essential Requirements

• Active ABN (or willingness to obtain one).
• Australian working rights.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
• Current driver's licence.
• Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for community access.
