We are committed to delivering safe, high-quality support that promotes independence, dignity, choice and community inclusion.

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers to support participants with complex mental-health conditions, cognitive impairment and multiple physical health needs in a Supported Independent Living environment.

You will provide proactive daily support, maintain structured routines, promote independence and help ensure participants' health, safety and wellbeing.

Staffing requirements: Recruitment will support the approved 1:2 SIL model with 24/7 coverage, with capacity for 1:1 support during appointments and community access, subject to Rostering approval.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support with personal care, grooming, dressing, laundry, cleaning and daily routines.
  • Support medication prompting, supervision and authorised administration, including psychotropic medications and scheduled depot appointments.
  • Recognise mental-health deterioration, respond calmly to distress and follow escalation and risk-management procedures.
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation, nutrition, food hygiene and kitchen/fire safety.
  • Follow prescribed fluid restrictions, fluid monitoring, bowel charts and relevant health management plans.
  • Support shopping, medical appointments, transport and community participation.
  • Provide active supervision and follow participant-specific safety strategies.
  • Maintain accurate progress notes, medication records and other required documentation.
  • Promote independence through clear communication, reassurance, redirection and structured routines.
Essential Requirements
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Current open Australian driver's licence.
  • Experience supporting people with complex mental-health conditions, cognitive impairment or high support needs.
  • Competence in medication support and willingness to complete participant-specific training.
  • Understanding of mental-health escalation, risk management and person-centred support.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 roster, including shifts as required.

Experience supporting people with schizoaffective disorder, hallucinations, paranoia, cognitive impairment, chronic catatonia, psychogenic polydipsia and complex physical health needs will be highly regarded.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for patient, dependable and observant support workers who can follow detailed support plans, provide active supervision, maintain consistent routines and respond appropriately to changing support needs.

Participant-specific induction and training must be completed before undertaking specialised support duties.

What We Offer
  • Competitive pay of up to $46.70 per hour.
  • Casual, part-time and full-time employment opportunities, subject to availability.
  • Opportunities to develop skills in complex disability and mental-health support.
  • A supportive team environment focused on quality care and positive participant outcomes.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference by promoting participants' choice, independence and community inclusion.
