Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Casual Disability Support Worker to join our Lifestyles home care team in the Penrith area. You will provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their own homes, with travel between clients and short, split shifts.

You will work with High Intensity Daily Personal Activities, including complex bowel and catheter care, and manual handling. Availability for early mornings and late afternoons is required, with shifts paid from 2 hours.

Qualifications

• Experience providing High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA).
• Experience supporting people with disability in home care.
• Competent in manual handling and personal care.
• Current Australian Drivers Licence with reliable, insured vehicle.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• Willing to complete basic household chores.
• Passionate about person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide HIDPA and complex care (incl. bowel/catheter care).
• Assist with hoist transfers.
• Daily living assistance and domestic tasks.
• Maintain and monitor person-centred plans.
• Document progress notes and updates.

About the Role

Joining ourLifestyles (home care support) team, you willprovide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their own homes, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required.

To provide best support you will have experience in providing high intensity daily personal activities (including complex bowel and catheter care) and manual handling (including hoist transfers).

To be considered for a role you must have availability for early morning and late afternoon shifts and be willing to commit to a variety of individual client sessions within the Penrith area. Note, shifts will be paid at a minimum of 2 hours and you will be reimbursed 0.99 cents per kilometre travelled between client sessions.

• Documenting and progress note keeping

Skills & Experience

• Experience providing High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA)
• Previous experience support people with disabilityin a home care setting
• Confidence and experience in manual handling and providing personal care
• Australian Drivers Licence and reliable, insured vehicle
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Willing to complete basic household chores
• Passionate about delivering Person-Centred care

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
