Job summary

Aligned Community Care is seeking a Casual Disability Support Worker to join teams across Wollongong/Wongawilli. You will provide daily living and community participation support, including transport using your own car, and respond to behaviours of concern with de-escalation techniques.

Qualifications

• Must have own car with comprehensive insurance and be willing to transport participants.
• NSW Working With Children Check
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Australian Police Check
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate
• Medication administration training or willingness to complete it
• 100 points of ID
• Current right to work in Australia

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with daily living and community participation.
• Use your own vehicle to assist with transportation and appointments.
• Respond calmly and confidentially to behaviours of concern using de-escalation strategies.
• Assist with emotional regulation and managing challenging situations.
• Maintain professional boundaries and respond respectfully to interactions.
• Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans and individual care plans.
• Build routines, independence and everyday life skills.
• Apply trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approaches.
• Keep accurate shift notes and incident reports
