Job summary

Scope Australia is seeking a pool of casual carers to support SIL homes across the Illawarra region. You will provide warm, person-centred care, promote independence and follow structured support plans to help participants live their chosen lives.

Successful applicants will have NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, NSW Green P’s or higher, and valid Australian working rights. Comprehensive orientation and ongoing training are provided, with salary packaging and staff

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check required.
• Green P’s or higher NSW driver’s licence.
• Valid Australian working rights and international police check (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, respectful, person-centred support that promotes dignity and independence.
• Follow behaviour support strategies, routines, and safety procedures consistently.
• Support participants with daily living, personal care, health routines and community access.
• Use calm communication and effective de-escalation to manage behaviours of concern.
• Work confidently and independently while following structured support plans.
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate effectively with the wider team.
• Bring patience, reliability, and a calm, supportive approach to every shift.

About the role:

We are recruiting a pool of casuals to support across the Illawarra area in our SIL homes

What you'll need:

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overnight (active/sleepover).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check.
• Green P’s or higher NSW driver’s licence
• Valid Australian working rights and international police check (if applicable).
