Job summary

Bright Access is a registered NDIS provider seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers for casual roles across Gippsland, Latrobe Valley, West Gippsland and Traralgon. You will provide person-centred support aligned with individual plans and goals.

About The Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide individualised, person-centred support to people with disabilities in accordance with their support plans, goals, and preferences.

Your Responsibilities May Include

Direct Support

• Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting


• Supporting daily living activities such as meal preparation, household tasks and community access


• Assisting with mobility, transfers and the use of assistive equipment


• Administering medication in accordance with training and organisational procedures


• Supporting mealtime management and specialised dietary requirements where required

Health and Wellbeing

• Supporting participants to attend health and medical appointments


• Providing High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (where appropriately trained)


• Following health-related instructions provided by medical professionals

Positive Behaviour Support

• Implementing Behaviour Support Plans


• Recording and reporting behaviours of concern


• Following protocols relating to restrictive practices

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintaining accurate progress notes and incident reports


• Following participant risk assessments and support plans


• Adhering to organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, and workplace health and safety obligations

Goal-Oriented Support

• Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals


• Encouraging independence, skill development and community participation


• Promoting inclusion and meaningful engagement within the community

Available Shift Types

Essential Requirements

• NDIS Worker Screening Check

• Demonstrated experience supporting people with diverse disabilities


• Willingness to travel between participant locations


• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability, or a related qualification (or currently studying)


• Experience supporting people with disabilities


• Experience working with complex support needs or behaviours of concern, implementing strategies outlined in Behaviour Support Plans.


• Understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approaches


• Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards


• Experience with digital documentation systems
