Job summary

Scope NSW is seeking a casual Support Worker to empower adults with complex mental health needs living independently in the community. You will be skilled and resilient, able to support routines, safety and dignity, while building confidence.

Requirements include regular access to a car, a NSW P2 Driver Licence or higher, and flexibility for rostered shifts (AM, PM, sleepovers). The role offers casual rates from $45.28 per hour plus penalties, plus salary packaging and retailer benefits.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with complex mental health and psychosocial disabilities in an independent living model.
• Rigorously follow BIS and care support plans as directed by clinical teams and site manager to best support complex behaviours.
• Encourage capacity building to enhance clients’ current skills, such as hygiene, safe relationships, domestic duties, using public transport and accessing the community safely.
• Promoting choice and control and show eagerness to participate in clients’ day to day routines, goals, and interests.
• To be efficient in computer skills and report writing!

Orange NSW Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports clients with a forensic background and complex mental health. We are looking for a casual Support Worker who is skilled and resilient, with the ability to effectively empower and inspire individuals to adopt positive habits and routines. Strong communication skills and the ability to set firm boundaries are essential.

We are aware there are quite a few compliance checks (listed below) for this role however, what’s important to us is that you have regular access to your own car and a P2 NSW Drivers Licence or higher and flexible availability across a roster which may include, AM, split shift, PM, and sleepovers.
