Job description

Caring Care Support Pty Ltd – Nambucca Heads NSW

Category: Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)

About the role

As an experienced Support Worker at Caring Care, you will play a vital role in providing personalised and compassionate care to individuals with diverse needs. This casual position is based in Bowraville, supporting adults with disabilities living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation to live independently and participate actively within their community.

This role provides 24/7 care, including inactive overnight sleepover shifts. Rostered shifts and sleepover requirements may change according to clients’ daily needs.

What you’ll be getting up to

Providing round-the-clock support as part of a 24/7 roster, including inactive overnight sleepover shifts as required (subject to change based on clients’ daily needs).

Helping our clients live their best lives within their SIL home—whether that’s getting out and about in the community, tackling everyday tasks, or just offering a friendly face and a bit of encouragement.

Supporting amazing humans with physical or intellectual disabilities in a way that’s respectful, empowering, and tailored to their unique needs.

Providing care across a wide spectrum—from low-level support to complex needs—and staying calm, kind, and capable when things get a little tricky.

Getting hands-on with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking, and shopping within the shared household—because a tidy space and a good meal go a long way.

Lending a hand with medication when required and keeping a close eye on health and wellbeing.

Guiding clients (and their families) to build confidence and independence in daily routines.

Keeping the admin side of things running smoothly—yes, there’s some paperwork, but we keep it purposeful.

Teaming up with others to review support plans and make sure we’re hitting the mark in helping our clients thrive.

Championing independence and wellbeing in everything you do—big or small, it all makes a difference.

Working alongside clients and their families in a shared living environment, following clear guidelines, but always with heart and flexibility.

What we’re looking for

Minimum 6 months experience in disability, with experience in SIL or supported accommodation settings highly regarded.

A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to empowering them to live with independence and dignity.

Demonstrated ability to work confidently and calmly within a shared household/SIL setting, including shift handovers, house routines, and overnight sleepover shifts.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and co-workers.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.

A current First Aid certificate and/or willingness to obtain one.

Some background checks are required before starting whilst others may be obtained after hiring.

A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

NDIS check, Working With Children’s Check, Police Check.
