Job summary

Allambi Care is seeking a Casual Support Worker to assist individuals with disabilities, children, and young people across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter, and Central Coast regions. You will provide person-centred active support to help clients develop daily living skills and independence.

Role includes personal care, medication support, transport, and program delivery. A range of checks and licenses are required, including WWCC, NDIS check, First Aid, and a valid driver’s licence; this is a

• Current Working with Children Check (paid employment).
• Current NDIS Worker Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; HLTAID011).
• National Police Check ( NSW).
• Current driver’s licence (minimum P2).
• A vehicle that can transport 4+ people.
• Comprehensive Car Insurance.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
• Ability to work a 7-day roster.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment medicals.
• Two professional references.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with the people in care.
• Provide care including personal, medication and domestic tasks as per care plan.
• Transport clients to school, shops, and appointments.
• Assist in implementing development programs.
• Prepare and maintain reports.

About The Role

The Support Worker plays a vital role in fostering a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for individuals living with disabilities, children, and young people in the care of Allambi Care

Through tailored person-centred active support, this role empowers participants and young people, including those with complex needs, to develop daily living skills, engage in community activities, and build their capacity for greater independence and inclusivity, ultimately helping them achieve their goals.

Your Daily Tasks Can Include

• Building a relationship with the people you are caring for.
• Providing care to participants, following a routine developed specifically in consultation with the participants and their needs, including personal, medication and domestic care.
• Transporting the people in our care to and from school, grocery shopping and appointments.
• Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the client.
• Report writing.

About You

To be successful in the role you will need to meet the following Essential Criteria:

• Current NDIS Worker Check: (can be obtained via https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/ndiswc-apply)
• Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID011)
• National Police Check (this must be obtained via https://www.employmentscreeninggroup.com/au/allambi/)
• A current driver’s licence (minimum of a P2)
• A vehicle that can transport upwards of 4 people
• Comprehensive Car Insurance
• Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module (can be accessed via: https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/)
• Ability to work a 7-day shift work roster
• Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks
• Two professional references
