Job summary

Allambi Care is a multi‑disciplined human services organisation operating in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter, Central Coast and Victoria. The Support Worker role focuses on creating a safe, friendly environment for individuals with disabilities, children and young people in our care.

Through tailored person-centred active support, this position empowers participants to build daily living skills, engage in community activities and increase independence, including those with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Current Working with Children Check is required.
• Current NDIS Worker Check is required.
• Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; HLTAID011).
• National Police Check is required.
• A current driver’s licence (minimum of a P2).
• A vehicle that can transport upwards of 4 people.
• Comprehensive car insurance.
• Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
• Ability to work a 7-day shift work roster.
• Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks.
• Two professional references.

• Providing around the clock care to participants following a structured routine including personal care.
• Administering medication.
• Transporting the people in our care to and from school, day programs and appointments.
• Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the client.

About The Role

The Support Worker plays a vital role in fostering a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for individuals living with disabilities, children, and young people in the care of Allambi Care

Through tailored person-centred active support, this role empowers participants and young people, including those with complex needs, to develop daily living skills, engage in community activities, and build their capacity for greater independence and inclusivity, ultimately helping them achieve their goals.

Your Daily Tasks Can Include

• Building a relationship with the people you are caring for.
• Providing around the clock care to participants, following a structured routine developed specifically for their needs, including personal care.
• Administering medication.
• Transporting the people in our care to and from school, day programs and appointments.
• Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the client.
• Report writing.

About You

To be successful in the role you will need to meet the following Essential Criteria:

• Current NDIS Worker Check: (can be obtained via https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/ndiswc-apply)
• Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID011)

• A current driver’s licence (minimum of a P2)

Preferrable (but Not Essential)

• Obtained or engaged in Certificate 4 Disability, or Disability Support or equivalent, or Certificate 3 Individual Support, or Certificate 3 Aged Care
• Minimum of 6 months previous experience in the sector
