Job summary

Best Life Individual Support Services is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team on the Sunshine Coast, Maroochydore. As a casual employee, you will support clients with daily living activities and promote independence.

You will work with the care team to implement tailored plans, maintain records, and participate in ongoing training. A driver’s licence and relevant checks are required to ensure safe client transport.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in disability support or related community care roles.
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Able to do 2-3 sleepover shifts per week.

Best Life Individual Support Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in the Sunshine Coast area. As a casual employee, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support and care to our clients with a disability, empowering them to live their best lives.

What you’ll be doing

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as community access and participation, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, promoting their independence and wellbeing
• Collaborate with the broader care team to develop and implement tailored support plans
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and procedures
• Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge
• Supporting our clients towards living their best life and achieving their goals!

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role
• Minimum 12 months experience in disability support or related community care roles
• A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with mental health challenges
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to meet the unique needs of each client
• A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable registered vehicle
• Valid driver’s licence and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for client transport
• NDIS Workers Screening, Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification (renewed within last 12 months)
• Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks and assist clients with mobility
• Committed to do at least 2-3 sleepover shifts per week
