Job summary

My Family Support Services Pty Ltd is seeking Disability Support Workers to join our Gold Coast and Logan teams. Candidates should have open and flexible availability, including sleepovers, and a commitment to participant-centered care.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, promoting independence, and coordinating with families and support networks. A Certificate 3 in Individual Support or Aging is required, along with First Aid/CPR and relevant checks.

Qualifications

• Open and flexible availability including sleepover availability.
• Certificate 3 or equivalent is required.
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
• Blue Card & Yellow Card.
• National Disability Worker Screening Clearance.
• Right to work in Australia.
• Unrestricted Driver’s License.
• Clean and tidy, reliable car with full comprehensive insurance.

• Respond to clients’ needs and collaborate with their families, support people and others in their lives.
• Assist with clients’ daily activities and routines.
• Promote independence, give choice, encourage inclusivity, and respect privacy of individuals with disability.
• Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct.
• Work with the support team to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Provide individuals access to the Community through transport and social outings.

Common Position Responsibilities

Assistance with daily living tasks such as personal care, preparation of meals and other general household tasks.

Respond to clients’ needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.

Assist with clients’ daily activities and routines.

Promote independence, give choice, encourage inclusivity, and respect the rights and privacy of individuals with disability.

Working within the context of the individuals’ ability, balance and Duty of Care within the rights of the individual.

Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct

Work with the support team to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Provide individuals access to the Community through transport, assisting on social outings, and participating in activities.

Be proactive to continually educate yourself on the specific needs of participants and conditions.
