Job summary

Multicap on the Gold Coast is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist customers transitioning from hospital and clinical care into stable accommodation services. You will be at the forefront of delivering compassionate care and implementing practical strategies to support daily living.

The role requires experience with high-complex needs, the ability to manage varying shifts including nights, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in the Disability Sector providing services to individuals with high-complex needs
• Valid Driver's Licence (P2 minimum) and Blue Card
• NDIS Worker Screening and current First Aid & CPR certificate
• Ability to work across mornings, afternoons, nights and overnight shifts

Responsibilities

• As part of the Gold Coast Supports Team, assist customers moving from hospital/clinical care into accommodation services
• Deliver high-quality care and support plans for people with complex needs
• Adapt to emergent situations with calm and professional handling

About Your New Role

As part of our Gold Coast Supports Team, you will be assisting customers with complex needs moving from hospital and clinical care, into accommodation services. Our Disability Support Workers are the forefront of delivering exceptional care and implementing innovative strategies to help customers overcome daily challenges and reach their full potential.

About You

• Excels in complex support environments, including Clinical Settings, In-Home Supports, Supported Independent Living, and Community Access
• Experience with health support, PEG feeding, meal and medication assistance manual handling and providing personal care including bathing, toileting and dressing
• Has extensive experience working with complex support needs, implementing Positive Behavioural Support Plans, clear understanding of restrictive practices and handling mental and physical health challenges
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritise workloads and respond to emergent situations with ease
• Is flexible and can work across various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, nights, and overnights

Requirements
