Job summary

Multicap Limited on the Gold Coast is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist customers moving from hospital and clinical care into accommodation services. You will work in our Gold Coast Supports Team, delivering person-centred care and innovative strategies to enhance daily living for people with disabilities and their families.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Disability Sector providing services to individuals with high-complex needs.
• Experience with health support, PEG feeding, meal and medication assistance, manual handling and personal care (bathing, toileting, dressing).
• Proven ability to prioritise workloads and respond to emergent situations.
• Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, nights and overnights.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with complex needs moving from hospital/clinical care into accommodation services.
• Deliver person-centred care and implement strategies to help customers reach their goals.
• Provide health support, including feeding, meal and medication assistance, and personal care.
• Assist with Positive Behaviour Support Plans and manage safety in daily care.
• Collaborate with team to ensure high-quality, compassionate service.

About Your New Role

As part of our Gold Coast Supports Team, you will be assisting customers with complex needs moving from hospital and clinical care, into accommodation services. Our Disability Support Workers are the forefront of delivering exceptional care and implementing innovative strategies to help customers overcome daily challenges and reach their full potential.

About You

• Excels in complex support environments, including Clinical Settings, In-Home Supports, Supported Independent Living, and Community Access
• Experience with health support, PEG feeding, meal and medication assistance manual handling and providing personal care including bathing, toileting and dressing
• Has extensive experience working with complex support needs, implementing Positive Behavioural Support Plans, clear understanding of restrictive practices and handling mental and physical health challenges
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritise workloads and respond to emergent situations with ease
• Is flexible and can work across various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, nights, and overnights

Requirements

• A current Driver's Licence (P2 Minimum)
• Paid Blue Card & NDIS Worker Screening
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• 2 years’ experience in the Disability Sector providing services to individuals with high-complex needs
