Job summary

Multicap is seeking Casual Disability Support Workers in Emerald to support people with disability across SIL and CAS. Availability for a minimum of three days per week, including at least one weekend day, and shifts 6:00am–3:00pm is required.

Roles may include afternoons, evenings, wakes and weekends. Support workers provide personal care, administer medications, enable community participation, and adhere to individual plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months' experience in disability support, community services, aged care or a related field.
• Experience with individuals who have complex behaviours is highly desirable.
• Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and support with daily living activities.
• Assisting with medication administration and monitoring health needs.
• Supporting customers to participate in community and social activities.
• Implementing support strategies in line with individual support plans and PBS plans.
• Completing documentation and administrative tasks accurately.

Job description

Join our Emerald team and support people with disability across Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Access Support (CAS). We are seeking Casual Disability Support Workers to assist with ad hoc roster coverage across a 24/7 service. To be successful in this role, you must be available for a minimum of three days per week, including at least one weekend day, and be available to work 6:00am to 3:00pm shifts. Additional shifts may include afternoons, evenings, active awake overnight shifts and weekends. Experience supporting customers with complex behaviours is highly desirable.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing personal care and support with daily living activities

• Implementing support strategies in line with individual support plans and PBS plans
• Completing documentation and administrative tasks accurately

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 months' experience in disability support, community services, aged care or a related field
• Experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours (highly desirable)
• Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies (desirable)
• Ability to work across a variety of shift types, including weekends
• Ability to complete documentation and administrative tasks accurately

Requirements

• Current Driver Licence (P2 minimum)
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
