Job summary

Bunya Care Caboolture is seeking female Disability Support Workers to join our team across Burpengary, Caboolture and the Moreton Bay region, with casual shifts covering SIL, in-home supports and community access.

You will provide respectful, person-centred support in homes and in the community, help with daily living routines, manage routines, and work with the participant's team to promote independence and choice.

Qualifications

• Reliable and consistent in supporting participants.
• Able to maintain dignity, privacy and choice for participants.
• Willing to obtain required checks and licenses.

Responsibilities

• Providing respectful, person-centred support within participants' homes and in the community
• Supporting daily living routines, personal care, meal preparation and household tasks
• Supporting participants to access their community, appointments, activities and social opportunities
• Encouraging independence, choice and participation rather than doing things for people
• Building positive, professional relationships with participants and families
• Supporting participants with complex needs or behaviours of concern where applicable
• Following individual support plans and organisational procedures
• Completing shift notes and incident documentation
• Working collaboratively with other support team members
• Maintaining professional boundaries while being warm and engaged

With new Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports commencing, we are looking for reliable, down-to-earth and genuinely engaged people who understand that great support is about much more than simply turning up for a shift.

Our team supports people to build independence, stay connected to their community, feel safe and comfortable in their own home, and have genuine choice and control over how they live their lives.

These casual roles will include a mix of SIL, in-home supports and community access, with shifts available across weekdays, weekends and sleepovers.

• Following individual support plans, behaviour support strategies and organisational procedures

• Completing clear and accurate shift notes, incident documentation and other required records

• Working collaboratively with other members of the participant's support team

• Maintaining professional boundaries while still being warm, approachable and genuinely engaged

Experience supporting people with any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Autism and intellectual disability

• Mental health and psychosocial disability

• Complex support needs

• Supported Independent Living

• Behaviour support

• Community access and independence-building

Experience is valued, but we also know that qualifications alone don't make a great Support Worker. Consistency, good judgement, reliability and the ability to genuinely connect with the person you are supporting are just as important to us.

You will need, or be willing to obtain

• NDIS Worker Screening / Yellow Card

• Blue Card

• Current First Aid and CPR

• NDIS Worker Orientation Modules

• Current driver's licence

• Comprehensive vehicle insurance

• A reliable, clean and presentable vehicle suitable for participant transport

• Appropriate Australian working rights
