Job summary

Makodah Care is seeking reliable Casual Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. You will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and communities, helping them achieve goals and build independence.

Flexibility across weekday, afternoon, evening, weekend and public holidays is valued. Essential checks include NDIS Worker Screening, Working With Children, Police Check, First Aid/CPR, and a current Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Providing person-centred support within participants' homes and the community.
• Supporting participants with personal care, daily living activities and household tasks.
• Encouraging independence and assisting participants to develop everyday living skills.
• Supporting participants to access the community, attend appointments, education, employment and recreational activities.
• Assisting with transport where required.
• Assisting with meal preparation and maintaining a safe, clean home environment.
• Providing medication assistance where appropriately trained and authorised.
• Completing progress notes and required documentation.
• Following individual support plans, risk assessments and organisational policies.
• Supporting participant choice, dignity, privacy, independence and control.
• Recognising and reporting changes in participant wellbeing or support needs.
• Maintaining professional boundaries and building genuine relationships.
• Working collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators and the Makodah Care team.
