Job summary

Centacare North Queensland (NQ) is seeking compassionate Community Support Workers to join our Disability Services team in Townsville. You will support participants in their homes, in the community, or during social activities to promote independence and confidence.

Ideal applicants have experience in disability or community services, strong communication skills, a current driver's licence, and up-to-date First Aid/CPR, Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability, community services, aged care or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current driver's licence.
• Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).

Responsibilities

• Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals.
• Assisting with community access, social activities and appointments.
• Encouraging independence and skill development.
• Providing personal care and daily living support.
• Assisting with meal preparation, domestic tasks and household activities.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Working collaboratively with participants, families and support networks.
