Job summary

Tradewind Australia is seeking a confident Disability Area Coordinator in Toowoomba, QLD, to lead person-centred service delivery under the NDIS framework. You will oversee SIL, Community Access, Centre-Based Supports and In-Home Supports, mentoring frontline staff and coordinating workforce planning across sites.

You will build strong relationships with participants, families and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with NDIS Practice Standards.

About the Role:

The Disability Area Coordinator supports the effective coordination of Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Access, Centre-Based Supports and In-Home Supports, helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that promote positive participant outcomes. Reporting to the General Manager - Allied Health and Disability, this role works collaboratively with teams, participants and stakeholders to support service delivery, maintain quality and compliance standards, facilitate communication across programs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays an important role in participant safety, workforce coordination, stakeholder engagement and service development, ensuring services align with NDIS Practice Standards, legislative requirements and organisational objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of disability services across SIL, Community Access, Centre-Based Supports and In-Home Supports.
• Provide guidance, support and mentoring to frontline staff to promote a capable, engaged and participant-focused workforce.
• Coordinate workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation to support efficient and effective service delivery.
• Facilitate participant intake, service commencement and ongoing service coordination to support positive outcomes.
• Promote the delivery of person-centred, trauma-informed supports that encourage participant choice, independence and goal attainment.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, carers, guardians, support coordinators and other key stakeholders.
• Support service quality and compliance activities in line with NDIS Practice Standards, legislative requirements and organisational policies.
• Coordinate the management of incidents, complaints, risks and restrictive practices, ensuring appropriate documentation, reporting and follow-up.
• Monitor service delivery outcomes, funding utilisation and operational requirements, escalating issues and opportunities where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, service development activities and organisational change processes.
• Participate in on-call support and escalation processes as required.

Requirements to be successful for this role:

• A tertiary qualification in Disability, Communities Services or relevant is ideal.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting disability or community services, with a sound understanding of NDIS framework and disability legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act.
• Demonstrated experience working within an NDIS environment including a sound understanding of NDIS plans, core and capacity supports, pricing arrangements, service agreements, code of conduct, NDIS registration and the role of the quality and safeguards commission.
• Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and developing teams within disability, community or human services setting, including workforce coordination, performance management, coaching and capability development.
• Well-organised with the ability to manage competing priorities, work proactively and adapt to changing service needs.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with participants, families, colleagues and external stakeholders, with a commitment to person-centred practice.
• LCS2 check or able to obtain
• Working with Children Check (QLD Paid Blue Card) or willingness to obtain
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card) or willingness to obtain
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Current P2 or Open Australian driver's licence (essential for travel between sites)
• National Police check or able to obtain
• Nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certifications or willingness to obtain
