Job summary

AECOM’s Water Infrastructure group in Queensland is seeking a Director to lead our South-East Queensland team, networking across the business and developing your professional profile to drive meaningful outcomes.

You will mentor staff, lead wastewater treatment plant design and optioneering studies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while building strong client relationships to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (essential); CPEng and/or RPEQ qualifications are highly regarded.
• Ideally, 12+ years of experience in wastewater treatment at a senior or technical leadership level.
• Comprehensive understanding of treatment processes, plant design, and ANZ regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communicator with a client-centric, people-first approach.
• Committed to delivering high-quality work, mentoring and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop team members, building team capability and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
• Wastewater treatment plant design – design systems for both liquid and solid waste streams.
• Get involved in optioneering studies, concept design, and detailed design.
• Collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders within multidisciplinary teams while building and managing client relationships.
