Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in Victoria seeks an experienced Director, Policy and Regulatory Reform to lead policy and regulatory reforms across earth resources.

You will provide strategic advice to Ministers and executives, oversee reform programs, and collaborate with industry, communities and government partners to shape the mining, quarrying, petroleum and critical minerals sectors.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in natural resources / economics / law / public policy.
• Proven experience delivering major reform initiatives and providing trusted advice to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic policy and regulatory reform initiatives across Victoria's earth resources sector.
• Provide authoritative advice to the Minister, departmental executives and senior decision-makers.
• Build productive relationships across government, industry and communities to influence and deliver reform outcomes.
• Engage strategically with industry bodies, local government, regional communities and resource companies to understand emerging issues, opportunities and risks.
• Oversee the preparation of Cabinet submissions, ministerial briefings, parliamentary materials, executive correspondence and strategic reports.
• Lead a high-performing branch and contribute to divisional leadership and decision-making.
