Corpus Christi College Maroubra is seeking a Director of Teaching and Learning (3pt) to inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. This full-time, permanent role is temporary for up to 3 years as a 3-point promotion, with responsibilities across curriculum, data-driven improvement, and staff development.

About You

As Director of Teaching and Learning (3pt) you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. The position is a 3 point promotional role, temporary for up to 3 years, however your teaching position will be full-time and permanent. You'll bring:

• a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the Church, actively supporting and promoting the Catholic life, culture, and evangelising mission of the College
• proven strategic leadership experience in teaching and learning, with the capacity to work collaboratively with the Principal, Executive Leadership Team, and Middle Leaders to realise the College's mission, vision, and strategic priorities
• provide strategic and instructional leadership, supporting the development of consistent, evidence informed teaching practices that engage, challenge and improve student outcomes.
• proven leadership in professional learning and staff development, including construction of the Professional Learning Calendar, facilitation of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), approval and coordination of professional learning opportunities, and administration of staff Personal Development Plans (PDPs)
• exceptional ability to lead and mentor middle leaders, particularly Leaders of Learning, through coaching, professional growth, and accountability processes.
• extensive knowledge of curriculum leadership and compliance requirements, including demonstrated experience in ensuring adherence to NESA, Sydney Catholic Schools, and other relevant regulatory and reporting frameworks
• demonstrated expertise in curriculum planning, subject selection processes, and academic pathway management, including the coordination of information and subject selection evenings
• highly developed data literacy skills, with the ability to compile, analyse, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative data to drive continuous school improvement and monitor student achievement
• proven ability to lead whole-school literacy and numeracy improvement strategies, including the effective use of assessment data to inform teaching and learning programs
• experience leading academic intervention and enrichment programs, ensuring appropriate support and challenge for all learners and improving student growth and achievement
• a demonstrated capacity to foster differentiated learning practices, ensuring students are challenged and supported at their point of need across all stages of learning.
• demonstrated experience convening and chairing professional learning and learning team meetings, fostering a culture of collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement
• strong collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with leaders responsible for wellbeing, diverse learning, gifted & talented, IT services, library services, and other key areas to support the holistic development of students
• experience overseeing whole-school initiatives that enhance student engagement and achievement, including student goal-setting programs, Year 12 enrichment programs, and holiday study programs
• demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain innovative educational partnerships and programs, fostering opportunities that enhance student learning and staff professional growth
• excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate complex programs, administer compliance requirements, and meet critical deadlines
• experience coordinating pre-service teachers and practicum programs, supporting the professional growth of future educators and strengthening school-university partnerships
• highly developed interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, enabling effective engagement with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders
• a deep commitment to safeguarding and child safety, demonstrated through an understanding of, and adherence to, child protection legislation, policies, and practices, recognising that child safety is everyone's responsibility
• a tertiary qualification in Education and NESA accreditation.
• postgraduate qualifications in Educational Leadership, Curriculum, or a related field
• experience leading whole-school improvement initiatives within a Catholic education context
• demonstrated success in improving academic performance through data-informed decision-making and evidence-based practice.
