Job summary

Crime and Corruption Commission Brisbane – North, Australia seeks a Director Litigation to lead an in-house legal practice, advise on complex litigation, and ensure the CCC meets model litigant obligations. The role requires seniority, strategic leadership, and exemplary judgment in sensitive matters.

The successful candidate will manage a team of lawyers, supervise investigations, and provide high-level legal advice across a portfolio of matters in a government context.

Qualifications

• Significant post admission experience, ideally 10+ years PAE, in public/admin law and advocacy.
• High-level litigation experience in government in-house capacity or advising institutional clients.
• Ability to lead and mentor a high-performing in-house legal team and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication to influence and persuade.
• Ability to analyse complex legal and factual issues and provide informed legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Manage an in-house legal practice and lead a team of lawyers.
• Advise on and conduct litigation on behalf of the CCC.
• Ensure compliance with model litigant obligations and court/ statutory requirements.
