Job summary

The Queensland Government is seeking an experienced in-house counsel to manage the CCC's legal practice and oversee litigation on behalf of the Commission. You will lead a team of lawyers, provide high-level advice, and ensure compliance with model litigant obligations.

Applicants should have 10+ years PAE in public/admin law, strong leadership, and excellent advisory skills. The role supports flexible work options, with a focus on maintaining rigorous professional standards.

Qualifications

• Significant post admission experience (ideally 10+ years PAE) in public and administrative law and advocacy.
• Proven capacity to appear as an advocate or instructing counsel.
• Experience leading a high performing in-house legal team.

Responsibilities

• Advise on and conduct litigation for the CCC.
• Lead and mentor a team of in-house lawyers.
• Ensure CCC acts as a model litigant and adheres to court orders and statutory requirements.
• Manage conflicts of interest and sensitive information responsibly.
