Job summary

The Crime and Corruption Commission in Fortitude Valley, QLD is seeking a senior in-house lawyer to lead a team of lawyers advising on and conducting litigation. The role focuses on complex statutory investigations and ensuring the CCC acts as a model litigant.

Applicants must be admitted in Queensland, eligible for a practising certificate, and capable of managing conflicts of interest while delivering high-quality legal service to the Commission.

Qualifications

• Significant post admission experience (ideally 10+ years PAE) in public and administrative law.
• High-level litigation experience in government in-house or with institutional clients.
• Ability to build and lead a high performing in-house legal team.
• Strong verbal and written communication and professional judgment.
• Ability to manage conflicts of interest and sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Manage an in-house legal practice with responsibility for advising on and conducting litigation for the CCC.
• Lead a team of lawyers handling complex and novel legal questions.
• Ensure the CCC acts as a model litigant and meets court/ statutory obligations.
