OVERVIEW The Director, International Recruitment and Admissions leads the University’s onshore international recruitment and admissions functions and reports to the Executive Director, Future Students and Marketing. This role is responsible for developing and implementing international student recruitment strategies that support student load, revenue, and growth targets. The position also oversees international admissions operations, agent management, and recruitment planning aligned with the University’s growth and diversification objectives. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 5 October 2031 based in Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the University’s onshore international recruitment and admissions functions.
- Develop and implement the international student recruitment strategy to achieve agreed student load, revenue, and growth targets.
- Deliver a comprehensive international recruitment plan aligned with the University’s growth and diversification objectives.
- Ensure contemporary, consistent, and compliant policies, processes, and practices across international recruitment, admissions, and agent management.
- Oversee the performance and engagement of international agents and partners.
- Support growth objectives while maintaining the University’s desired Evidence Level (EL) for student visa processing.
- Lead enhancements to international admissions systems and processes.
- Oversee recruitment and admissions resources, workflows, and the in-country representative network.
- Contribute to broader recruitment, admissions, and partnership initiatives across the University.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the institution.
Requirements
- Proven strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills with the ability to translate strategy into achievable work programs.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategies to grow international student demand.
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, sound judgement, and strategic decision-making in a highly competitive and constantly changing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in international student recruitment.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, including workflow planning, team supervision, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial, human, physical, and technology resources to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships, credibility, and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability and willingness to undertake occasional travel and work outside standard business hours.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in business, marketing, or sales management and extensive relevant experience in international education providing advice to senior management, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education or training.
