Job summary

Blue Mountains City Council is seeking a highly experienced Director to lead Infrastructure & Project Delivery Services. The role focuses on strategic planning and delivery of critical infrastructure, ensuring climate resilience and accessibility for the community.

The successful candidate will manage a large portfolio, oversee safety, WHS and continuous improvement while fostering strong stakeholder relations and delivering sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

The Director, Infrastructure & Project Delivery Services leads the strategic planning, delivery and maintenance of the City’s critical infrastructure and assets, ensuring they are fit for the future, climate resilient and responsive to community needs. This senior leadership role is responsible for maintaining a safe, well-designed road network, supporting integrated and accessible transport solutions, and managing stormwater and flood risk infrastructure. The position drives the implementation of Visitor Paid Parking and a Bus Management scheme, oversees delivery of complex capital works programs, and balances competing priorities, funding constraints and community expectations to deliver sustainable outcomes for the City.

We are seeking a highly experienced and collaborative leader with relevant tertiary qualifications and substantial experience in leading a Directorate with a large indoor and outdoor workforce. Position is responsible for directing infrastructure and transport planning, management and delivery. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong strategic and operational expertise, exceptional people leadership, project and budget management skills, sound political and commercial acumen, and a proven ability to deliver results, foster positive stakeholder relationships, lead multidisciplinary teams, and champion a strong customer service, WHS and continuous improvement culture.
