Job summary

Gunnedah Shire Council is seeking a motivated Direct Care Leader to oversee high-quality in-home services for frail aged people and carers in the Gunnedah community. You will coordinate meal delivery, transport, social groups, and respite while leading a team of direct care staff and volunteers, ensuring safety, compliance, and participant wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Community Services (CHSP, Aged Care or Disability Services) or related; experience considered.
• Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
• Experience or ability to work with frail aged people and carers.
• Strong communication, time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services to frail aged people and carers.
• Coordinate meal delivery, transport, social groups, respite and activities.
• Oversee scheduling and resource bookings, including vehicles.
• Support budgeting, contracts and volunteer workforce management.
• Recruit and support the volunteer workforce.
