Young Minds Academy in Hamlyn Terrace NSW is hiring a Diploma Trained Early Childhood Educator for a full-time role at our centre. You will provide high-quality care, education and development support to children, contributing to a nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, WWC clearance and First Aid/CPR certification, with demonstrated experience in early childhood settings.

Diploma Trained Early Childhood Educator

Young Minds Academy is seeking a Diploma Trained Early Childhood Educator to join our dedicated childcare team. This is a full-time position based at our centre in Hamlyn Terrace NSW 2259. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care, education and development support to children in our care. Your work will directly contribute to creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where children can learn, grow and thrive during their early years.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities and educational programmes that support children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development
• Providing direct care including feeding, toileting, nappy changing and hygiene practices in accordance with health and safety standards
• Supervising children during play and rest times, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
• Building positive relationships with children and families, fostering communication and supporting parents through regular updates on their child's progress
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment across all areas of the centre, including play spaces, bathrooms and kitchens
• Implementing behaviour guidance strategies that are positive, consistent and developmentally appropriate
• Collaborating with colleagues and the centre leadership team to ensure consistent delivery of care and education
• Documenting children's learning and development through observations and record-keeping
• Complying with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures including child protection and safeguarding requirements
• Contributing to team meetings and continuous professional development activities

What we’re looking for

• A current Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification
• Current or the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance
• Current or the ability to obtain a First Aid and CPR certification
• Demonstrated experience working with children in an early childhood education setting
• Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning frameworks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families and colleagues
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing
• Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to a collaborative environment
• High standards of personal conduct and commitment to child safety and protection
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of children and families
• Physical capability to perform the duties of the role including bending, lifting and standing for extended periods
