Job summary

Sydney Water is seeking a Managed Operating Environment Specialist focused on Citrix to securely operate, monitor and maintain MOE services across Sydney Water’s multi-site environment. You will work with Digital teams and external providers to ensure service levels, resilience and end-user satisfaction, while following IT policy and governance.

The role requires a tertiary IT degree or equivalent, 5+ years IT experience, and 3+ years delivering MOE services.

• Tertiary IT/CS degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years of IT experience.
• Minimum 3 years delivering and operating managed operating environment services.
• Experience with supporting a large Citrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Managed Operating Environment services across all sites.
• Collaborate with Digital teams to support delivery and improvement of foundation services.
• Coordinate with external providers for day-to-day maintenance and monitoring.
• Implement tasks to meet customer service requirements as directed by the lead.

Managed Operating Environment Specialist - Citrix

Securely operate, maintain, monitor and manage application publishing and cloud collaboration on a day-to-day basis to ensure effective and efficient service delivery and solutions ensuring Sydney Water’s digital resilience.

About the role

This role will see you securely operating, monitoring, and maintaining managed operating environment services on a day-to-day basis to ensure effective and efficient technology delivery, using service frameworks, architectures and solutions ensuring Sydney Water’s digital resilience. You will also work to enhance the end-user experience for all users within Sydney Water’s multi-site environment.

Your duties will involve:

• Operating and implementing Managed Operating Environment services across all sites ensuring service levels, availability, capacity and resilience
• Collaborating with all Digital teams and relevant frameworks to provide information on Managed Operating Environment services supporting delivery, development and continuous improvement of future foundation services
• Working with external service providers to operate and implement the day-to-day maintenance and monitoring of all managed operating environment systems and services, informing the functional lead of any risks, issues and performance impacts
• Implementing tasks allocated by the functional lead to managed operating environment services to meet customer service requirements.
• Ensuring adherence to Sydney Water IT policy, process and frameworks

About you

This role will suit someone who has prior experience as a technical specialist in a Citrix environment, and who is looking to develop some complementary skills in the MS Exchange space. Working in a dynamic team environment you have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer focus and a desire to create a positive end-user experience. You are willing to share your Citrix expertise, and to learn new skills to support the team’s requirements.

You will have:

• Tertiary degree qualification in IT, Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in delivery, implementation and operation of managed operating environment services.
• Technical experience with supporting a large Citrix Environment
• Experience with various versions of Citrix from XenApp 6.5 to Citrix Cloud
• Experience with Citrix provisioning tools such as PVS and MCS
• Excellent communication skills, flexibility, team focus and dedication to customer service
• Ability to communicate complex technical problems effectively
• Ability to problem solve difficult issues and come to a technical solution that meets business needs
• Demonstrated people collaboration skills

Desirable:

Demonstrated experience working with quality frameworks

Demonstrated experience in working with Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems, Group Policy, application packaging, SCCM, Intune, Autopilot Exchange Online and Exchange Hybrid and Microsoft 365
