BUMA Australia is seeking experienced Excavator Operators for the Blackwater Mine in Central Queensland. This permanent, full-time role operates on a 7/7 roster with day-night rotation, utilizing a mix of Komatsu and Caterpillar excavators.

Training and safety are emphasized, with a strong focus on safe work practices and environmental protection. Ideal candidates will have proven experience on large excavators such as Hitachi EX3600, CAT 6060, or Hitachi EX8000, and hold a valid ST11 and Coal

Qualifications

• Proven experience on excavators listed (300T–800T).
• Valid ST11 or equivalent where required by site.
• Coal Board Medical dated within the last 5 years preferred.
• Transcripts showing excavator experience.

Responsabilités

• Operate excavators on Blackwater site and surrounding operations.
• Promote safe work practices and reduce risk to people, equipment and environment.
• Identify and raise any safety concerns; follow site procedures and instructions.
• Coordinate with the operations team to maintain productivity and compliance.

About The Role

We are seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our Blackwater team in a permanent, full-time capacity on a 7/7 roster, day-night rotation. Our fleet at Blackwater comprises of a combination of Komatsu 930-E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks with Hitachi EX8000, Caterpillar 6060 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.

Key Requirements

• Valid ST11
• Coal Board Medical dated within the last 5 years (preferred)
• Transcripts demonstrating proven experience on one or more of the excavators listed
• Identify and promote safe work practice, ensuring appropriate precautions are taken to reduce risk to both people, equipment and the environment.

Blackwater Mine

Located in Central Queensland, Blackwater Mine is one of the state’s largest coal mines, just 21 km from Blackwater. BUMA Australia has been handling truck and excavator pre-strip operations here since 2012, moving over 35 million BCM of material annually.

Our fleet includes Komatsu 930-E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks, paired with Hitachi EX8000, Caterpillar 6060, and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.
