Job summary

Programmed Skilled Workforce is partnering with a leading Australian equipment hire provider to recruit a trade-qualified Plant Mechanic / Fitter Mechanic for its workshop maintenance team in Fyshwick ACT. This full-time, permanent role offers day-shift hours and a focus on diesel-powered equipment and hydraulic systems.

You will work within an experienced maintenance team, servicing a diverse range of machinery, with generator and electrical work supported by contractors.

Qualifications

• A relevant mechanical trade qualification, such as Plant Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter.
• Proven experience servicing and maintaining diesel-powered plant and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work across a variety of machinery and equipment in a workshop setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing and repairs across hire equipment.
• Diagnose faults in diesel engines and hydraulic systems and execute repairs.
• Maintain plant equipment, scissor lifts, generators and related machinery.
• Record service work using the maintenance management system and assist with stock control.
• Collaborate with Leading Hand and workshop team to prioritise maintenance work.
