Job summary

Milne Machinery PTY ltd t/as Milmac Ag seeks an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our Emerald workshop in Central Queensland. You will inspect, diagnose, service and repair diesel-powered agricultural machinery and heavy equipment, ensuring reliable performance for farming operations.

The role requires a trade qualification, 2+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to diagnose faults with diesel engines and related systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience servicing diesel engines and heavy or agricultural machinery.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing mechanical faults and completing major mechanical repairs.
• Experience with agricultural or earthmoving equipment is highly regarded.
• Current and valid driver's licence.
• Automotive electrical and air-conditioning qualifications are desirable.
• Forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, service, maintain and repair diesel-powered agricultural machinery and heavy equipment
• Diagnose faults in diesel engines and associated mechanical systems using computerised and other diagnostic equipment
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, braking systems and other mechanical components
• Repair or replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals
• Perform scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups and safety inspections
• Test and adjust engines and mechanical components following repairs to ensure correct performance and reliability
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and air-conditioning systems where appropriately qualified
• Complete service reports, repair documentation and job cards accurately
• Provide field-service and workshop support as required
• Maintain a safe, organised and team-oriented working environment

We are now seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic – Agricultural Machinery to join our Agricultural Workshop in Emerald.

You will inspect, diagnose, service, maintain and repair diesel-powered agricultural machinery and heavy equipment.
