Job summary

Meridian Industries Ltd in Wetherill Park, NSW, is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our on-site team. You will carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance and repairs of diesel-powered machinery in line with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.

Diagnose faults with diagnostic equipment and manuals, dismantle and repair engines and hydraulic systems, and perform scheduled maintenance to keep machines safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or IV required.
• MR Licence preferred.
• At least 1 year diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Willing to relocate to Wetherill Park NSW 2164.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance and repairs of diesel-powered machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.
• Diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment and manuals.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble engines and hydraulic systems.

Job description:
Carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance and repairs of diesel-powered machinery, plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.
Diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment, testing procedures and technical manuals, and determine appropriate repair requirements.
Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace and reassemble engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, braking systems, cooling systems, fuel systems and other mechanical components.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, adjustments, component inspections and replacement of worn or defective parts.
Conduct mechanical testing and operational checks following repairs to ensure machinery is safe, reliable and operating to required specifications.
Carry out in-house service and repair work and machine fit-up/commissioning, including modifications and installation of mechanical components to meet customer requirements.
Use a range of hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, diagnostic equipment and workshop machinery safely and correctly.
Identify and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical-related faults associated with diesel-powered machinery, where within the mechanic's scope of work.
Read and interpret manufacturer service manuals, technical specifications, drawings and maintenance documentation when carrying out repairs and servicing.
Work independently and as part of a team to complete repair, maintenance and machine fit-up projects safely, efficiently and within required timeframes.
Maintain accurate service records, repair reports and parts information and report identified defects or additional repair requirements.
Comply with WHS requirements, safe work procedures and manufacturer specifications at all times.

Salary-$80,000 to 98,000 per year (plus super)
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
