Job summary

Lantrak Pty Ltd. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our Fleet team in Melbourne.

You’ll maintain and repair a diverse fleet of earthmoving machinery, heavy vehicles and ancillary equipment, with both workshop-based maintenance and field service across our sites. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you’ll apply your technical expertise to diagnose issues, fix faults and keep equipment operating safely and efficiently on major construction projects.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining heavy diesel equipment, preferably earthmoving machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work independently across workshop and field service environments.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair earthmoving equipment, heavy vehicles and associated plant.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission faults.
• Attend site breakdowns and carry out field repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete preventative maintenance, inspections and equipment preparation.
• Work closely with the Fleet and Operations teams to maintain equipment reliability and availability.
