National Logistics is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for our Melbourne depot in Campbellfield. This workshop-based role offers flexibility to work full-time, part-time, or four-day weeks, making it ideal for someone looking for balance or semi-retirement close to home.

You will maintain and service a fleet of company-owned Kenworths and trailers, perform diagnostics, and provide onsite support to keep our fleet in top condition and compliant.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience with diesel vehicles and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles and trailers for issues before faults occur.
• Investigate mechanical issues reported by drivers.
• Ensure vehicles and trailers are safe, roadworthy and compliant.
• Diagnose issues and test parts.
• Provide onsite technical support.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and keep workspace clean.
• Communicate with fleet manager, operations team and drivers.

National Logistics is a family-owned company seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for our Melbourne depot in Campbellfield.

This is a practical, workshop-based role with a flexible set-up. We are open to candidates who want to work full-time, part-time, or even full-time hours but over four days.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who might be thinking about semi- retirement or perhaps wanting to work closer to home.

We have a beautiful fleet of company-owned vehicles (mainly Kenworths) and trailers that we like to keep in top condition. Our workshop has all the tools and supplies our mechanics need to get the job done.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles
• Inspect vehicles and trailers and identify potential issues before they become major faults.
• Investigate mechanical issues reported by drivers
• Ensure all vehicles and trailers remain safe, roadworthy and compliant
• Diagnose issues and test parts
• Provide onsite technical support
• Respond to breakdowns and help minimise equipment downtimes
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance tasks
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
• Communicate effectively with the fleet manager, operations team and drivers.

Required Qualifications:

• Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic trade qualification
• Negotiable hourly rate commensurate with experience.
