Job summary

Trafquip Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team in Yatala, Queensland. You will service, diagnose and repair our fleet of traffic management vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe operation for customers.

This hands-on role requires a qualified Diesel Mechanic or equivalent, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently within a supportive team. A valid licence is essential, with MR-HR and forklift tickets advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic or equivalent mechanical experience.
• Experience in vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
• Able to work on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Safety-focused with strong attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s licence; MR-HR licence advantageous; forklift ticket advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Conduct inspections for on hire and off hire.
• Repair and maintain light vehicles, trucks, trailers and traffic management equipment.
• Assist with breakdowns and urgent repairs when required.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Vehicle and equipment delivery and collection.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers.
• Work closely with depot and fleet teams to minimise downtime.

Trafquip is a leading provider of traffic management vehicles, equipment and solutions across Australia. We are looking for an experienced and reliable Mechanic to join our team at our in Yatala Queensland

This is a hands on role suited for a mechanic who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a supportive team.

The Role

Working from our Yatala depot, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of traffic management vehicles and equipment, ensuring everything is safe, reliable and ready for our customers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Conducting inspections for on hire and off hire
• Repairing and maintaining light vehicles, trucks, trailers and traffic management equipment
• Assisting with breakdowns and urgent repairs when required
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records
• Vehicle and equipment delivery and collection
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Liaising with clients and suppliers
• Working closely with the depot and fleet and operational teams to keep equipment operational and minimise downtime

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualified Diesel Mechanic, or has relevant mechanical experience
• Experienced in vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs
• Comfortable working on a variety of vehicles and equipment
• Practical, reliable and able to work independently
• Safety-focused with a strong attention to detail
• A good communicator who works well as part of a team
• Proactive and willing to get stuck in
• Able to prioritise jobs and respond to changing operational requirements
• A valid drivers licence
• MR-HR drivers licence is an advantage
• Forklift ticket is an advantage
• Experience with traffic management vehicles, trucks, trailers, hydraulics, auto electrical systems or specialised equipment will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
