Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join our mobile maintenance team at Boonal Coal Stockpile, near Blackwater, QLD. This permanent full-time role offers a 7/7 roster and a competitive hourly rate with super.

You will service and repair heavy diesel and mobile plant equipment, perform diagnostics, carry out preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns in a safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining heavy mobile plant or mining equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel and mobile plant equipment.
• Perform fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Complete preventative and scheduled maintenance.
• Attend breakdowns and carry out mechanical repairs.
• Replace components and identify potential equipment issues.
• Conduct inspections ensuring maintenance meets safety and operational standards.

About the Role

Working as part of our mobile plant maintenance team, you'll play an important role in maintaining the equipment supporting coal stockpile and handling operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel and mobile plant equipment
• Performing fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Completing preventative and scheduled maintenance
• Attending breakdowns and carrying out mechanical repairs
