MacKellar Group in Australia is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to maintain and repair heavy mobile plant across our fleet. You will work in a busy workshop, performing routine maintenance and diagnostics.

This permanent role offers day and night shifts on a 5/4/4/5 roster, meals and accommodation if needed, and a strong safety culture.

Competenze

• Trade qualification in heavy‑duty diesel fitting or plant mechanic is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills are essential.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work independently or in a team.

Mansioni

• Perform machine maintenance, component replacements, overhauls and repairs.
• Fault finding, diagnostics and preventative maintenance.
• Completing daily refuelling and equipment inspections.
• Carrying out planned maintenance within timeframes and cost parameters.
• Working effectively across day and night shifts.
• Following procedure-based maintenance systems and site standards.

About the Role

As a Diesel Fitter with MacKellar, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant to keep our equipment safe, reliable and productive.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing machine maintenance, component replacements, overhauls and repairs
• Fault finding, diagnostics and preventative maintenance
• Completing daily refuelling and equipment inspections
• Carrying out planned maintenance within required timeframes and cost parameters
• Working effectively across day and night shifts
• Following procedure‑based maintenance systems and site standards

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy‑Duty DieselFitter or Plant Mechanic
• Post‑trade mining experience
• Proven experience working on heavy earthmoving equipment in a workshop environment
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
• A strong work ethic and commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
