Rio Tinto’s Bell Bay Aluminium in Tasmania is seeking a Diesel Fitter Apprentice to join the maintenance team on a 9 Day Fortnight roster. You will learn mobile plant maintenance, complete a nationally recognised trade qualification, and work with experienced mentors in a safety‑focused environment.

Applicants should have Year 10/12 with maths competence and show enthusiasm for heavy vehicles. This fixed‑term apprenticeship offers hands-on learning and career development opportunities within a

Competenze

• Passing grades in Maths and English.
• Interest in Heavy Commercial Vehicles or Mobile Plant Machinery.
• Willingness to learn with a proactive attitude.
• Strong health, safety and environmental practices.
• Teamwork and good communication skills.

Mansioni

• Learning and developing trade knowledge relating to mobile plant maintenance, machinery, processes and systems deployed across the site.
• Working towards completing an apprenticeship with a recognised training plan (e.g., Tas TAFE).
• Working as part of a team to ensure safe, continuous and environmentally responsible operations.
• Gaining experience from qualified trade experts with onsite apprentice mentors.
