Job summary

MacKellar is seeking a Diesel Fitter to maintain and repair heavy mobile plant in our workshop. You’ll work across day and night shifts on a 5/4/4/5 roster, with meals, accommodation and PPE provided.

You’ll perform maintenance, diagnostics, fault finding, and planned maintenance to keep equipment safe and productive. This permanent position offers stability in a well-established workshop team.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or LV Fitter/Mechanic.
• Post-trade mining experience.
• Proven experience on heavy earthmoving equipment in a workshop.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performing machine maintenance, component replacements, overhauls and repairs.
• Fault finding, diagnostics and preventative maintenance.
• Completing daily refuelling and equipment inspections.
• Carrying out planned maintenance within required timeframes and cost parameters.
• Working effectively across day and night shifts.
• Following procedure-based maintenance systems and site standards.

About the Role

As a Diesel Fitter with MacKellar, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant to keep our equipment safe, reliable and productive.
