Job summary

Randstad is seeking a qualified Diesel Fitter for a permanent role at Mount Isa Mines in Queensland. The role covers inspection, maintenance and repair of diesel engines in heavy vehicles and plant equipment, ensuring safety and uptime.

You will diagnose faults, service cooling, exhaust, hydraulic and electrical systems, complete documentation, and maintain a safe workshop. Relocation to Mount Isa is required for trade applicants. Pre-employment medical and Australian work rights required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in diesel engines and related systems using diagnostic tools and computer software.
• Service and repair auxiliary systems such as cooling, exhaust, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Carry out routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Complete job cards, service records, and relevant documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Support other team members and assist with workshop operations as required.

About the Role

As a diesel fitter, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines and associated systems in heavy vehicles and equipment. Your role is crucial in ensuring plant, machinery, and fleet vehicles are serviced and repaired to the highest standards, supporting operational efficiency and safety.
